Site Description and Birding Information: Haydons Creek cuts a deep gully which Lanark 17 crosses at elevation. This provides great viewing of the maturing deciduous forest draping the sides above the creek. Parking is the biggest problem, as the shoulder is narrow. There are a couple of old access roads into the pine plantation to the southeast, at the top of the hill, that could be used. The gully is home to various species; woodpeckers, flycatchers, etc. Indigo Buntings can be found easily here in summer.

To add to the variety here, there are spruce and pine plantings along the road at the top of the hill; some spruce to the northwest and a bit larger pine group to the southeast.
