Jostled
by noon office crowds
a frail old fellow
is bending
down to tie his shoe
On my personal
Jewish Zen Christian
calendar
every day Pesah
every day Easter
Solitary
under snow-freighted skies
a little lark
in a corn field pecks
its way along a furrow
|
Climbing higher
as cloud slips over
hot granite
I hear the scree
hit far below
At the peak
one twisted pine
black
against the blood-rinsed
doom of sundown sky
Testing
that theory again:
the drunker I get
the clearer
shines the moon
