A fine evening of crokinole was had at the Neily's Wednesday night when Matt, Damon and Larry had a quadruple round robin. Thanks to Dave for use of his board (especially from Larry, who has improved his release problem a bit). Our rustiness showed, with many fairly easy shots botched. But as the evening progressed the quality of play did too. See picture below.
Some strange statistical anomalies showed up again. For instance, in a format that lends itself to ties, there was not one all evening! And it was not because the matches were one sided, there were also no 8-0 matches! The improbability of this happening perhaps shows how evenly matched the three players were. As has often happened with our group, A beats B, B beats C, and C beats A.
For this evening, Larry and Damon tied with 5-3 records in matches; while Larry had the best round point record with a 38-26 mark. Larry also eked out a narrow victory in crokinoles (or 20's) with 39 to Matt's 37 and Damon's 34.
The Eastern Challenge is coming up and just for those who might be interested in the scoring there, matches are not the important number, but only round points. The results are simply your total round points. Every round is important.
