Ottawa Crokinole Club

         Clinging tenuously to life, the Ottawa Crokinole Club played it's first match of the year on March 15, 2012. Only 3 players showed up at the Neily's Thursday night when Larry Neily was joined by Damon Loomer and newcomer Andrew Loomer (Damon's son). We only had a double round robin before breaking up the evening.

         The matches were all tieless tonight, but with only one match ending 8-0. Damon came out ahead on the evening as a result of his two victories over Andrew. Newcomer Andrew beat Larry in one match, but his Dad seemed to have his number.

         Congratulations to Damon, who had a 3W-1L record in his 4 matches, and a 23-9 round point victory. He also had most 20's with 21, Larry finishing second with 17.

         A short but good session where Andrew got to play for the first time in one of our club shoots, though he had played in the Eastern Ontario Crokinole Challenge last fall. On a somewhat depressing note, Larry's release hitch has delveloped into a major problem, causing matches to slow to far less than Tavistock standards. If he can find no way around this, he may have to bow out of further play.
