Site Description and Birding Information: Check the river (Lac des Chênes here) from the breakwaters, especially in late fall and early winter, for waterfowl, loons and grebes. Check inside the marina for sheltering waterbirds. And near the first week of November, check the breakwater itself for Purple Sandpiper. A Red Phalarope was found on the west side of the marina on the small rocks on October 22, 2004.
Check the sandy beach to the north for roosting gulls and possible shorebirds. A Piping Plover was seen here May 13, 2004.
